We were sad to hear the news about our majority shareholder and Chairman of the Board of Directors
Mr Rainer Bartram
Holder of the Gold Award for services to the Republic of Austria
Holder of the Gold Award for the Land of Upper Austria
Holder of the Gold Award for the City of Ried in the Innkreis
who died suddenly and unexpectedly on 25 February 2009, a few days before his 85th birthday.
All his work and passion were directed at our company for a quarter of a century. He was a brilliant strategist and clever businessman who led Wintersteiger from being a small machine construction company to the global organisation that it is today. Rainer Bartram was always ahead of the times with his visionary thinking and his realistic view of the world. However, in spite of all his success, he never lost his close contact with his staff and always kept an eye on their wellbeing.
His courage and firm belief in his staff, his boundless strength and determination and especially his human greatness will remain fixed in our memories and it will be our honour to continue to run Wintersteiger in the same manner.
